They have shared the stage with bands like The Fold, Quietdrive, Last Tuesday, Future Of Forestry and We Shot The Moon, and also have been defined with the hybrid sound of Copeland and the charisma of Number One Gun. Of course we talked about Sleep for Sleepers, formerly known as The Red Coterie, wasting poetry and optimism in his lyrics. This year they re-release their album entitled “The Clearing”, consisting of 12 strong and deep songs.

“Bravery” gives the perfect start to the recording, with a monstrous guitar intro and provocative phrases like “Hey sisters, have you been shown? / That you’re much more than bodies used to dance on their floors / they call out for you all night and all day / the gentlemen they beg and beg”. Furthermore, and with influences of Number One Gun, we have “Thieves & Bones” giving a precise assessment, pianos and falsettos. In “Foreign” we find synthesizers and a message that encourages us to step into the light, by far one of the strongest tracks on the album. “Keep Your Voices”, who was the first official single from the band, pours a result frantic electric and artistically similar to “My Epic” and often shouting, “Children keep your voices down / We will follow sound / Keep your voices down / We will follow sound”. Silently we find “Stateline” that captures us with its beautiful melody and lyrics full of nostalgia that we have having someone away from us, or when we ask someone that not leaves us. It’s difficult to describe the feeling of “The Harbor”. Lasts less than 3 minutes and is attributed interlude classification because of their arrangements, but not without losing its own charm. “The Fearless” synchronizes the environment with a strong chorus: “To see your fearless is for all that it is / Rediscover the bones that I’ve hid. Oh God, what have I done? / To crawl and feel your mercy course through my veins / Set a path for who’s weak and ashamed / Love me for who I am, and who’ve been” becoming vulnerable to our feelings. Continuing with the leisurely atmosphere, “Twilight” gives a romantic environment, using piano, acoustic guitars and a nice and simple beat. Similarly, “The Distance” gives us lyrics full of love, a masterful melody in 6/8 compass; lines like “If there’s distance, there’s persistence too”. Simply beautiful. “The Sea” opens with a powerful piano, brushing each bar through delicate melodies that end in a vibrant chorus. The acoustic side is inevitable even on this album, and “Love Is for the Foolish” is simply the best choice. Try us to understand the meaning of the name of the band through a love poem with phrases like: “Sleep is for sleepers and we are like them / Love is for the foolish / what fools will we become?” Finally, “The Clearing” gives balance to the recording, after a comfortable environment. “While I’ve tested seasons in search for Your glory / I have two bloody hands with scars that can prove / I tried to fight fears, instead I fought you / when will I learn of all that I’m worth? / More than I’m told / I’ve heard more than / more than I’ve heard / this is the process of finding who I am”.

Now we know that Sleep for Sleepers is able to spread his positivism through the direction of this album, creating love-meetings and abundant references of God, we have no doubt that “The Clearing” is a strong candidate to become amazed at our ears. Influences of Deas Vail and Copeland summarized Sleep For Sleepers who are ready and willing to take advantage of their success in the coming months.

Por supuesto hablamos de Sleep For Sleepers, antes conocidos como The Red Coterie, derrochando poesía y optimismo en sus letras. En “Foreign” encontramos sintetizadores y un mensaje que nos anima a dar un paso hacia la luz; de lejos uno de los tracks más sólidos del álbum. “Keep Your Voices”, quién fue el primer sencillo oficial de la banda, derrama un resultado eléctrico y artísticamente frenético similar al de “My Epic”, y a menudo gritando: “Niño mantengan sus voces en lo bajo / seguiremos el sonido / mantengan sus voces en lo bajo / seguiremos el sonido”. Sigilosamente hallamos a “Statelines” que nos captura con su hermosa melodía y letras llenas de la nostalgia que tenemos al tener a alguien lejos de nosotros, o a aquella persona que rogamos no se vaya. Es complicado describir el sentimiento de “The Harbor”. Dura menos de 3 minutos y se atribuye la clasificación de interludio, debido a sus arreglos; sin embargo no deja de perder su propio encanto. “The Fearless” sincroniza el ambiente con un intenso coro: “Para ver que tu miedo es todo lo que es / Escudriña en los huesos donde me escondo. Oh Dios, ¿qué he hecho? / Para arrastrarme y sentir tu misericordia fluyendo en mis venas / Haz un camino para el débil y avergonzado / Ámame por quién soy, y por quién fui”; volviendo vulnerables a nuestros sentimientos. Continuando con la pausada atmósfera, “Twilight” le da un sentido romántico al entorno, utilizando pianos, guitarras acústicas y un beat agradable y simple a la vez. De la misma manera, “The Distance” nos regala letras llenas de amor, una melodía magistral en 6/8 y líneas cómo “Si hay lejanía, también hay persistencia”. Simplemente hermosa. “The Sea” arranca con un potente piano, pincelando cada compás a través de delicadas melodías que concluyen en un dinámico estribillo. La faceta acústica es infaltable incluso en este álbum, y “Love Is For The Foolish” es sencillamente la mejor elección. Intenta darnos a comprender el significado del nombre de la banda, mediante un poema de amor con frases como: “El sueño es para las travesías y nosotros somos como ellas / El amor es para tontos / ¿En qué tontos nos convertiremos?”. Finalmente, “The Clearing” le da el equilibrio a la grabación, después de un ambiente confortable. “En las pruebas que he pasado en búsqueda de tu gloria / Tengo dos manos ensangrentadas con cicatrices que pueden probar / Que traté de luchar contra mis temores, pero en lugar de eso he combatido contra ti / ¿Cuándo voy a aprender de todo lo que valgo? / Más allá de lo que me dicen o de lo que he oído / Este es el proceso de la búsqueda de quién soy”.

Ahora que sabemos que Sleep For Sleepers es capaz de contagiar su positivismo a través de la dirección de este álbum, creando encuentros de amor y abundantes referencias sobre Dios; no nos queda duda que “The Clearing” es un fuerte candidato a quedarse pasmado en nuestros oídos.
